King Ahmed Fouad I
King Ahmed Fouad I was the ruler of Egypt from 1920 until his death in 1936. He was born on March 24, 1868, and became the first king of the modern Egyptian monarchy after the country was declared a kingdom in 1922. Fouad I played a significant role in the political landscape of Egypt during a time of nationalistic movements and increasing demands for independence from foreign influence.
Fouad I was known for his efforts to modernize Egypt and strengthen its institutions. He established the University of Cairo in 1925 and promoted education and cultural development. His reign was marked by political challenges, including tensions with the British, who had significant control over Egypt at the time.
