Kibo Space Station
The Kibo Space Station is a Japanese module of the International Space Station (ISS) that serves as a research facility in low Earth orbit. Launched in 2008, Kibo, which means "hope" in Japanese, is designed for various scientific experiments, including biology, physics, and materials science. It features a pressurized section and an exposed facility for experiments in the vacuum of space.
Kibo is operated by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) and collaborates with other international space agencies, including NASA and ESA. The module provides unique opportunities for astronauts to conduct experiments that cannot be performed on Earth, contributing to advancements in science and technology.
