Khorasan
Khorasan is a historical region located in northeastern Iran, extending into parts of Afghanistan and Turkmenistan. It was known for its rich cultural heritage and played a significant role in the development of trade routes, particularly the Silk Road. The name "Khorasan" means "the land of the rising sun," reflecting its eastern position.
In ancient times, Khorasan was a center of learning and art, contributing to the Islamic Golden Age. It was home to notable figures such as the poet Omar Khayyam and the philosopher Avicenna. Today, Khorasan is divided into several provinces in Iran, including Razavi Khorasan and North Khorasan.
