Khanty People
The Khanty people are an indigenous group primarily residing in western Siberia, Russia. They are part of the larger Uralic language family and speak the Khanty language. Traditionally, the Khanty have relied on fishing, hunting, and reindeer herding for their livelihood, reflecting their deep connection to the natural environment.
The Khanty culture is rich in folklore, music, and crafts, with a strong emphasis on spirituality and nature. They live in small communities, often in chum (traditional tents), and maintain their customs despite the pressures of modernization. Their unique way of life is closely tied to the Ob River and surrounding taiga forests.
