Khanqah
A Khanqah is a Sufi lodge or gathering place where followers of Sufism, a mystical branch of Islam, come together for spiritual practices. These spaces are often used for meditation, prayer, and communal meals, fostering a sense of community among practitioners. The architecture of a Khanqah typically includes a prayer hall, living quarters for the Sufi master, and areas for teaching and learning.
In addition to spiritual activities, Khanqahs serve as centers for education and social welfare. They often host lectures, discussions, and cultural events, promoting the teachings of notable Sufi figures like Rumi and Al-Ghazali. These institutions play a vital role in preserving Sufi traditions and fostering interfaith dialogue.
