Keloid Scars
Keloid scars are raised areas of skin that form when the body produces too much collagen during the healing process. They often develop after an injury, surgery, or even acne, and can appear anywhere on the body. Keloids are usually larger than the original wound and may continue to grow over time.
These scars can vary in color, texture, and size, and they may cause discomfort or itching. While keloids are not harmful, they can be a cosmetic concern for many people. Treatments include steroid injections, surgery, and laser therapy, but keloids can sometimes return after treatment.
