Kaysone Phomvihane
Kaysone Phomvihane was a prominent Laotian politician and revolutionary leader. He served as the Prime Minister of Laos from 1975 until 1990 and was a key figure in the establishment of the Lao People's Democratic Republic. His leadership was marked by efforts to transform Laos into a socialist state.
Born on December 13, 1920, Kaysone was involved in the anti-colonial movement against French colonial rule and later fought against the United States during the Vietnam War. He played a significant role in the Pathet Lao movement, which aimed to unify Laos under communist governance. Kaysone passed away on November 21, 1992.
