Kauri trees
Kauri trees are large coniferous trees native to New Zealand, known for their impressive height and thick trunks. They can grow up to 50 meters tall and live for over a thousand years. The trees have distinctive, wide canopies and produce a valuable timber that has been used for construction and carving.
These trees are also significant for their ecological role, providing habitat for various species. However, Kauri trees face threats from a soil-borne disease called Kauri dieback, which has led to conservation efforts to protect these ancient giants and their unique ecosystems.
