Karttikeya
Karttikeya, also known as Murugan or Skanda, is a prominent deity in Hindu mythology. He is the son of Shiva and Parvati and is often depicted as a youthful warrior. Karttikeya is revered as the god of war and victory, symbolizing strength and courage. His vehicle is a peacock, and he is commonly associated with the Kartik constellation.
Worshipped mainly in South India, Karttikeya has several temples dedicated to him, including the famous Arupadai Veedu in Tamil Nadu. He is also celebrated during festivals like Thaipusam, where devotees express their devotion through various rituals and offerings.
