Kakuma
Kakuma is a refugee camp located in northwestern Kenya, established in 1992. It was created to provide shelter and support for individuals fleeing conflict and persecution, primarily from neighboring countries such as South Sudan, Somalia, and Ethiopia. The camp has grown significantly over the years and currently hosts tens of thousands of refugees.
The camp is managed by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and various non-governmental organizations. Kakuma offers essential services, including education, healthcare, and vocational training, to help refugees rebuild their lives. Despite challenges, the camp serves as a vital haven for those seeking safety and stability.
