Kais Saied
Kais Saied is a Tunisian politician who became the President of Tunisia in October 2019. He is known for his background in law and constitutional law, having served as a professor before entering politics. Saied ran as an independent candidate and gained popularity for his anti-corruption stance and promises to address the economic challenges facing the country.
In July 2021, Saied took significant political actions by suspending the Tunisian Parliament and dismissing the Prime Minister, which led to a controversial power shift. His decisions have sparked debates about democracy and governance in Tunisia, a country that played a key role in the Arab Spring.
