The Tunisian Revolution, also known as the Jasmine Revolution, began in December 2010 and marked the start of the Arab Spring. It was sparked by the self-immolation of Mohamed Bouazizi, a street vendor who faced police harassment. His act of protest resonated with many Tunisians, leading to widespread demonstrations against the long-standing regime of President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali.
As protests grew, citizens demanded political freedom, economic opportunities, and an end to corruption. In January 2011, Ben Ali fled to Saudi Arabia, and the revolution succeeded in toppling his government. This event inspired similar movements across the Arab world, highlighting the power of grassroots activism.
