Kadambas
The Kadambas were an ancient Indian dynasty that ruled parts of southern India, particularly in the regions of Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh, from the 4th to the 6th centuries CE. They are known for their contributions to art, architecture, and literature, as well as for establishing a significant cultural and political presence in the area.
The Kadamba dynasty is often credited with the development of the Kadamba script, which influenced later writing systems in the region. Their capital was located in Banavasi, where they built temples and promoted the Shaivism and Vaishnavism traditions, leaving a lasting impact on the cultural landscape of southern India.
