K-Type Star
A K-type star is a type of star that falls within the spectral classification system. These stars are cooler than G-type stars like our Sun, with surface temperatures ranging from about 3,900 to 5,200 Kelvin. They typically appear orange or reddish in color and are often found in various stages of their life cycle, including main sequence and giant phases.
K-type stars are known for their long lifespans, often lasting several billion years. They are relatively common in the universe and can host planetary systems. Some K-type stars are considered good candidates for the search for extraterrestrial life due to their stable environments.
