K-Type
K-Type refers to a classification of stars in the Hertzsprung-Russell diagram, which is a graphical representation of stars based on their luminosity and temperature. K-Type stars are cooler than G-Type stars, like our Sun, and have surface temperatures ranging from about 3,900 to 5,200 Kelvin. They typically appear orange in color and are often found in the main sequence phase of stellar evolution.
These stars are known for their longevity, often burning their fuel slowly, which allows them to exist for billions of years. K-Type stars can host planetary systems, making them of interest in the search for extraterrestrial life. Their stable environments may provide suitable conditions for life to develop on orbiting planets.
