K-219
K-219 was a Soviet nuclear submarine, part of the Project 667A class, which was designed during the Cold War. Launched in 1971, it was equipped with ballistic missiles and served as a strategic deterrent for the Soviet Navy.
In 1989, K-219 experienced a catastrophic incident when a missile tube accident led to flooding. The crew attempted to manage the situation, but the submarine ultimately sank in the Atlantic Ocean near Bermuda. The wreck was later located, and the incident highlighted the risks associated with operating nuclear submarines.
