Kōtōgakkō
Kōtōgakkō, or "senior high school," is an educational institution in Japan for students typically aged 15 to 18. It follows the completion of chūgakkō (junior high school) and lasts for three years. Kōtōgakkō offers various academic programs, including general studies, vocational training, and specialized courses, preparing students for higher education or the workforce.
In Japan, attending Kōtōgakkō is not mandatory, but a significant majority of students choose to enroll. The curriculum emphasizes both academic subjects and extracurricular activities, fostering personal development and social skills. Graduates often proceed to daigaku (university) or enter the job market.
