July 26 Movement
The July 26 Movement was a revolutionary organization founded in Cuba in 1953 by Fidel Castro and his supporters. Its primary goal was to overthrow the authoritarian regime of Fulgencio Batista. The movement began with an unsuccessful attack on the Moncada Barracks on July 26, 1953, which led to Castro's imprisonment.
After his release, Castro regrouped and continued the fight against Batista's government, gaining support from various sectors of Cuban society. The movement ultimately succeeded in 1959, leading to the establishment of a socialist state in Cuba and significantly impacting the country's political landscape.
