Juan Manuel Santos
Juan Manuel Santos is a Colombian politician and journalist who served as the President of Colombia from 2010 to 2018. He was born on August 10, 1951, in Bogotá, Colombia. Santos is known for his efforts to negotiate peace with the FARC, a guerrilla group that had been involved in a long-standing conflict in Colombia. His administration focused on reducing violence and promoting social development.
Santos studied economics and international relations at Harvard University and began his career in journalism. He held various government positions, including Minister of Defense, before becoming president. In 2016, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his role in the peace process with the FARC.
