Joymoti
Joymoti is a historical figure from Assam, India, known for her bravery and sacrifice during the 17th century. She was the wife of Chandrakanta Singha, the king of Ahom, and played a crucial role in resisting the Mughal invasion. Her story is celebrated for its themes of loyalty and courage.
In 1671, Joymoti was captured and tortured by the Mughal forces to extract information about her husband. Despite the immense suffering, she remained steadfast and refused to betray her king. Her legacy is honored in Assamese culture, symbolizing the spirit of resistance and the strength of women.
