Joscelin of Edessa
Joscelin of Edessa was a prominent figure in the 12th century, known for his role as a nobleman and military leader during the time of the Crusades. He served as the Count of Edessa, a key city in the Crusader states, from 1118 until his death in 1131. His leadership was marked by efforts to defend the territory against Muslim forces.
Joscelin was the son of Baldwin II of Edessa and played a significant role in the political landscape of the region. His tenure was characterized by both military campaigns and diplomatic efforts to maintain the fragile alliances among the Crusader states, particularly with Baldwin IV of Jerusalem.
