Jon Huntsman Jr. is an American politician and diplomat known for his service as the Governor of Utah from 2005 to 2009. He was born on March 26, 1960, in Palo Alto, California. Huntsman has also held various positions in the federal government, including U.S. Ambassador to China from 2009 to 2011 and U.S. Ambassador to Russia from 2017 to 2019. Huntsman is a member of the Republican Party and has run for the presidency in the 2012 election. He is recognized for his moderate views and emphasis on bipartisanship.
