John and Reve Walsh are known for their advocacy work following the tragic abduction and murder of their daughter, Adam Walsh, in 1981. This heartbreaking event led them to become prominent figures in the fight against child abduction and exploitation. In response to their loss, the Walshes helped establish the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children in 1984. They also played a significant role in the creation of the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act, which aims to improve the safety of children and enhance the tracking of sex offenders in the United States.
