John Wilkinson
John Wilkinson (1728-1808) was an English inventor and industrialist known for his contributions to the development of the iron industry during the Industrial Revolution. He is often referred to as the "Iron Master" and is credited with inventing the first commercially successful steam engine, which played a significant role in powering machinery and improving production processes.
Wilkinson also pioneered the use of cylinders in the manufacturing of cannon and other metal products. His innovations in ironworking techniques helped establish the foundation for modern engineering and manufacturing, making him a key figure in the advancement of industrial technology in the 18th century.
