John W. Hinckley Jr.
John W. Hinckley Jr. is an American man known for his attempted assassination of President Ronald Reagan on March 30, 1981. Hinckley fired six shots outside a hotel in Washington, D.C., injuring Reagan and three others, including a police officer and a press secretary.
Hinckley was found not guilty by reason of insanity and spent over three decades in a mental health facility. In 2016, he was granted conditional release, allowing him to live with his mother in Brooklyn, New York, under strict supervision and guidelines.
