Joaquim Manuel de Macedo
Joaquim Manuel de Macedo was a Brazilian writer, born on June 24, 1820, in the city of Rio de Janeiro. He is best known for his novel "A Moreninha," published in 1844, which is considered one of the first significant works of Brazilian literature. Macedo was also a physician and played a role in the cultural and political life of Brazil during the 19th century.
In addition to his literary contributions, Macedo was involved in journalism and education. He founded the magazine "Revista do Rio de Janeiro" and was a member of the Academia Brasileira de Letras. He passed away on September 11, 1882, leaving a lasting impact on Brazilian literature and culture.
