Joanna of France
Joanna of France, also known as Joanna the Mad, was a Spanish princess born on November 6, 1479. She was the daughter of Isabella I of Castile and Ferdinand II of Aragon. Joanna became the Queen of Castile in 1504 after her mother's death, but her reign was overshadowed by her mental health struggles, which led to her being declared unfit to rule.
Joanna was married to Philip the Handsome, the Duke of Burgundy, and they had six children, including Charles V, who later became Holy Roman Emperor. After Philip's death in 1506, Joanna's father and later her son took control of the kingdom, effectively sidelining her from power. She spent much of her life in confinement until her death on April 12, 1555.
