Joanna the Mad
Joanna the Mad, born in 1479, was a Spanish princess and the daughter of Isabella I of Castile and Ferdinand II of Aragon. She became the Queen of Castile in 1504 after her mother's death. Joanna was known for her tumultuous life, particularly her struggles with mental health, which led to her being labeled "the Mad."
After her marriage to Philip the Handsome, Joanna's emotional instability intensified, especially following his death in 1506. Her father and later her son, Charles V, confined her to a castle, where she spent much of her life in isolation until her death in 1555.
