Joanna of Bavaria
Joanna of Bavaria was a 15th-century noblewoman born in 1408. She was the daughter of John III, Duke of Bavaria and Catherine of France. Joanna became the Queen of Portugal through her marriage to King Afonso V in 1430, which strengthened ties between the two regions.
As queen, Joanna played a significant role in the royal court and was known for her piety and charitable works. She had several children, including Prince John, who later became King John II of Portugal. Joanna passed away in 1475, leaving a lasting legacy in Portuguese history.
