Jihadism
Jihadism refers to a radical interpretation of Islam that advocates for violent struggle, or jihad, against perceived enemies of the faith. This ideology often promotes the idea that Muslims must defend their religion through armed conflict, which can lead to terrorism and other forms of violence.
Jihadist groups, such as Al-Qaeda and ISIS, have gained notoriety for carrying out attacks worldwide, claiming to act in the name of Islam. Their actions are often condemned by the broader Muslim community, which emphasizes peace and coexistence rather than violence.
