Jewish Revolt
The Jewish Revolt, also known as the First Jewish-Roman War, occurred from 66 to 73 CE. It was a rebellion by the Jewish people in Judea against the Roman Empire, driven by religious and political tensions. The revolt began in response to heavy taxation and the perceived disrespect of Jewish traditions by Roman authorities.
The conflict escalated into a full-scale war, leading to significant battles, including the Siege of Jerusalem in 70 CE. The Romans ultimately crushed the revolt, resulting in the destruction of the Second Temple and the dispersal of many Jews, marking a pivotal moment in Jewish history.
