Jeita Grotto
Jeita Grotto is a stunning limestone cave system located in Lebanon, about 18 kilometers north of Beirut. It consists of two main caves: the upper grotto, which is accessible by foot, and the lower grotto, which can be explored by boat. The caves are known for their impressive stalactites and stalagmites, formed over millions of years.
Discovered in the 1830s, Jeita Grotto is a popular tourist destination and was nominated as one of the New7Wonders of Nature. The site also serves as a significant source of fresh water for the surrounding region, highlighting its ecological importance.
