Jean II of France
Jean II of France, also known as Jean le Bon, was the King of France from 1350 to 1364. He was born on April 26, 1319, and became king after the death of his father, Philippe VI. His reign was marked by the ongoing Hundred Years' War against England, during which he was captured at the Battle of Poitiers in 1356.
After his capture, Jean II was held for ransom, leading to significant political and financial challenges for France. He was eventually released in 1360 but struggled to regain control over his kingdom. Jean II died on April 8, 1364, and was succeeded by his son, Charles V.
