Javelina
Javelinas, also known as collared peccaries, are medium-sized mammals native to the Americas. They typically weigh between 50 to 100 pounds and have a distinctive collar of white fur around their necks. Javelinas are social animals, often found in groups called sounders, which can consist of up to 20 individuals. They primarily inhabit deserts, scrublands, and forests.
These animals are herbivores, feeding on a variety of plants, fruits, and roots. Javelinas have a keen sense of smell, which helps them locate food. Unlike pigs, they have a more slender build and lack a curly tail. Their unique adaptations allow them to thrive in their natural habitats.
