Javan Rhino
The Javan Rhino is one of the rarest large mammals in the world, primarily found in Ujung Kulon National Park in Indonesia. It has a single horn and a thick, folded skin that resembles armor. Adult Javan Rhinos can weigh up to 2,300 kilograms and are herbivorous, feeding mainly on leaves, shoots, and fruits.
This species is critically endangered, with an estimated population of fewer than 80 individuals. Conservation efforts focus on protecting their habitat and preventing poaching, as their horns are highly valued in illegal wildlife trade. The survival of the Javan Rhino is crucial for biodiversity in its ecosystem.
