Japanese Rule
"Japanese Rule" refers to the period when Japan governed various territories, most notably during its imperial expansion in the early 20th century. This era included the annexation of Korea in 1910 and the occupation of parts of China and Southeast Asia during World War II. The Japanese administration aimed to modernize these regions, often imposing strict control and cultural assimilation.
Under Japanese Rule, local economies were restructured to benefit Japan, leading to significant infrastructure development but also exploitation of resources and labor. The period was marked by resistance and conflict, as many local populations opposed foreign domination and sought independence from Japanese control.
