Japanese Macaques
Japanese Macaques, also known as snow monkeys, are a species of primate native to Japan. They are easily recognized by their thick fur, which helps them survive in cold climates, especially in the snowy regions of Honshu and Shikoku. These monkeys are highly social and live in troops, often engaging in grooming and playful behaviors.
These macaques are known for their intelligence and adaptability. They have been observed using tools, such as washing food in water, and they often seek out hot springs to warm themselves during winter. Their diet mainly consists of fruits, seeds, and insects, making them omnivorous.
