Janjaweed
The Janjaweed is a militia group that emerged in Sudan during the early 2000s, primarily associated with the conflict in the Darfur region. They are often described as armed horsemen and have been accused of committing widespread atrocities against civilian populations, including ethnic cleansing and genocide.
The group has been linked to the Sudanese government, which allegedly supported them in their efforts to suppress rebel movements. The actions of the Janjaweed have drawn international condemnation, leading to investigations by organizations such as the International Criminal Court and calls for accountability for their crimes.
