James Howard, 5th Earl of Suffolk
James Howard, 5th Earl of Suffolk (c. 1620–1688), was an English nobleman known for his role in the political landscape of the 17th century. He inherited the title from his father, James Howard, 4th Earl of Suffolk, and was involved in various political and military activities during the English Civil War.
Suffolk was a supporter of the Royalist cause, aligning himself with King Charles I. After the war, he faced challenges due to the changing political climate, but he remained an influential figure in the House of Lords and continued to manage his estates in Suffolk.
