James Cleveland
James Cleveland was an influential American gospel singer, songwriter, and choir director, born on December 5, 1931, in Chicago, Illinois. He is often referred to as the "King of Gospel" and is known for his powerful voice and innovative contributions to gospel music. Cleveland founded the Gospel Music Workshop of America and played a significant role in popularizing contemporary gospel music.
Throughout his career, Cleveland released numerous albums and composed many well-known gospel songs, including "Peace Be Still" and "I Don't Feel No Ways Tired." He received several awards, including Grammy Awards, and was a prominent figure in the African American church community.
