Jamaica Labour Party (JLP)
The Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) is one of the two major political parties in Jamaica, founded in 1943. It is a center-right party that traditionally supports free-market policies and private enterprise. The JLP has a strong base of support among various demographics and has been in power multiple times throughout its history.
The party's symbol is a green and gold color scheme, and its supporters are often referred to as "Labourites." The JLP has produced several notable leaders, including Andrew Holness, who has served as Prime Minister. The party's main rival is the People's National Party (PNP).
