JAXA's Hayabusa2
JAXA's Hayabusa2 is a Japanese spacecraft launched in December 2014 to study the asteroid Ryugu. Its mission aimed to collect samples from the asteroid's surface and return them to Earth for analysis, helping scientists understand the origins of the solar system.
In December 2020, Hayabusa2 successfully returned to Earth, delivering about 5.4 grams of asteroid material. This mission marked a significant achievement in space exploration, as it provided valuable insights into the composition of asteroids and the early solar system, contributing to our knowledge of planetary formation.
