Jólakötturinn
Jólakötturinn, or the Yule Cat, is a mythical creature from Icelandic folklore. It is said to be a large, menacing cat that roams the countryside during the Christmas season, preying on those who do not receive new clothes before Christmas Eve.
The legend encourages people to finish their work and earn new garments, as those without new clothes risk being eaten by the cat. This tale is often associated with the Yule Lads, a group of mischievous figures in Icelandic Christmas traditions, who also play a role in the festive season.
