Italian Senate
The Italian Senate, known as the "Senato della Repubblica," is one of the two chambers of the Parliament of Italy, the other being the Chamber of Deputies. It plays a crucial role in the legislative process, reviewing and approving laws proposed by the government or the Chamber of Deputies. Senators serve for a term of five years and can be elected or appointed.
The Senate consists of 315 elected members, along with a few life senators who are appointed for their notable contributions to society. The President of the Senate oversees its sessions and ensures that parliamentary rules are followed.
