Ismaili Imamat
The Ismaili Imamat is a spiritual leadership institution within the Ismaili branch of Shia Islam. It is led by the Imam, who is considered a direct descendant of the Prophet Muhammad through his cousin and son-in-law, Ali. The Imam provides guidance to the Ismaili community, interpreting religious teachings and addressing contemporary issues.
The current Imam, Aga Khan IV, has held this position since 1957. The Imamat emphasizes the importance of education, social development, and humanitarian efforts, aiming to improve the quality of life for Ismailis and the broader communities in which they live.
