Isabel Perón
Isabel Perón was an Argentine politician who served as the first female president of Argentina from 1974 to 1976. She was born on February 4, 1931, in La Rioja, Argentina, and was the third wife of former president Juan Domingo Perón. After his death, she succeeded him, becoming the first woman in the world to hold such a position.
Her presidency was marked by political instability and economic challenges, leading to widespread protests and violence. In March 1976, Isabel Perón was overthrown in a military coup, which initiated a period of dictatorship known as the Dirty War. She later lived in exile until returning to Argentina in the early 1980s.
