Evita Perón
Evita Perón, born María Eva Duarte on May 7, 1919, was an Argentine political leader and the wife of President Juan Domingo Perón. She became a prominent figure in Argentine politics during the 1940s and 1950s, advocating for labor rights and women's suffrage. Her work helped improve the lives of many impoverished Argentines.
Evita co-founded the Eva Perón Foundation, which provided social welfare programs and assistance to the needy. She was also instrumental in the passage of women's voting rights in Argentina in 1947. Evita's legacy continues to influence Argentine culture and politics even after her death on July 26, 1952.
