Irish Parliamentary Party
The Irish Parliamentary Party (IPP) was a political party in Ireland that aimed to achieve home rule for Ireland within the United Kingdom. Founded in the late 19th century, it emerged from the earlier Home Rule League and was led by prominent figures like Charles Stewart Parnell. The party sought to represent Irish interests in the British Parliament and advocated for legislative independence.
The IPP played a significant role in Irish politics until the early 20th century, particularly during the Home Rule debates. However, its influence declined after the 1916 Easter Rising and the rise of other nationalist movements, leading to its eventual dissolution in the 1920s.
