Iowa Utilities Board
The Iowa Utilities Board (IUB) is a state agency responsible for regulating public utilities in Iowa. Its main role is to ensure that utility services, such as electricity, natural gas, and water, are provided safely, reliably, and at reasonable rates. The board also oversees the construction of utility infrastructure and addresses consumer complaints.
The IUB consists of three members appointed by the Governor of Iowa and confirmed by the Iowa Senate. The board conducts hearings, gathers information, and makes decisions that impact both utility companies and consumers, aiming to balance the interests of all parties involved.
