Interossei
The interossei are a group of muscles located in the hands and feet. In the hand, there are two types: the dorsal interossei, which help spread the fingers apart, and the palmar interossei, which assist in bringing the fingers together. These muscles play a crucial role in fine motor skills and grip strength.
In the foot, the interossei also consist of dorsal and plantar muscles. The dorsal interossei help in spreading the toes, while the plantar interossei aid in bringing them together. Both sets of muscles contribute to balance and stability during walking and standing, making them essential for proper foot function.
